Second Annual
Community Readings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Date: Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Location: Swift Hall, Common Room
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm CST
Please join the Divinity School and the Martin Marty Center for the second annual Community Readings event in celebration of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join members of our broader community and participate in a live, continuous reading of some of King’s most significant and illuminating texts, from his well-known speeches to rarely cited essays. Texts will be selected and provided by Marty Center staff.
Each registrant will read for 10 minutes and pass the microphone to the next scheduled reader. Whether as a reader or listener, experience King’s legacy brought to life by the voices of our community.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day.
